Fees are calculated on the word count of the document as submitted. The examples below are based on a 9,000-word journal article - a typical manuscript length.

Some services are better suited to a fixed project fee than a per-word rate. The figures below are indicative - a confirmed quote is provided after reviewing your document.

Grant applications

Precision editing for competitive funding bids. Shorter national funding applications at the lower end; full EU framework programme bids (Horizon Europe, ERC) at the higher end.

Rush service Turnaround under 48 hours carries a 40% surcharge on the standard rate. Rush availability is subject to current workload - contact me before submitting to confirm. Standard turnaround is 5-7 working days; most manuscripts are returned sooner.

How it works

What you need to know before getting in touch

• Fixed quotes, always. Once a fee is agreed, that is the fee invoiced. There are no hidden charges, no per-revision fees, and no surprises at the end of the project.
• One follow-up round is included. If you have questions about any of the edits after receiving your manuscript, a brief review is included in every project at no additional charge.
• The rate reflects the condition of the text. A document that requires lighter intervention will come in at the lower end of the range; a document that needs more intensive work will come in higher. Your quote will reflect the actual document, not a standard rate.
• Invoicing in euros. All fees are invoiced in EUR. Payment is accepted by bank transfer (SEPA and international wire). Invoices are issued on completion of the work; payment terms are 14 days.
• Institutional invoicing. If your university or research institution is covering the cost, please check with your department's administrative office before submitting - some institutions have procurement processes that need to be followed.
• Not sure which service you need? Send your manuscript and a brief note about your target journal or deadline. I will assess the document and recommend the appropriate level of editing, with a fixed quote, within one working day.
